Here is a project I have been working on for a while now. It was launched today in Bristol, UK (July 19th 2005).

It is a historic ship simulation featuring the SS Great Britain. It is an interactive exhibit in the new museum opened today at SS Great Britain's dry dock.

You get to follow the commands 'barked' out by the Captain, and try to set a course for New York. Visitors steer the simulation by using a replica of the wooden ship's wheel whilst stood on the deck of the ship.

A 2.5 metre projected image shows the results of your efforts and a real compass binacle helps you to steer your course. (Thanks to Nigel Brown for his invaluable help on this one!)
